Women, Negotiation and Power:

10 Things You Need to Know!

A Mini-Course

_SusanColeman_StephanieEwensPhotography12.jpg

The more we understand that we have been negotiating -- or trying to negotiate -- all of our lives, the better we will get at it.

The better we get at it, the more we will get what we want.

The more we get what we want, the more we will change and rebalance the world.

Life is a negotiation and the female half of the human race has been “lumping it”, accommodating, or deferring for too long.  It is a deep conditioning of both men and women that has come from 6000 years of patriarchy. We must shift this dynamic if we are to be truly equal citizens on this planet.

For women to fully step into our leadership and power requires excellent negotiation skills. Indeed, it is through mastery of the art and science of negotiation that we will dismantle patriarchy – one negotiation at a time.

Students of negotiation will tell you that learning negotiation concepts, tools and techniques is fun, life-changing and warrants significant study and practice, no matter what stage of the game we are at.  It’s something you never stop getting better at.

Nonetheless, in this mini-course, I will condense key ideas into the
10 Things Women Need to Know
to fully step into our power and leadership.

This mini-course, 12 short videos with a corresponding workbook,
is jam-packed with insight, the latest research,
and my extensive experience about what negotiation is
and why it is so critical to each and all of our lives --
in the bedroom and in the boardroom!

THROUGHOUT THE MINI-COURSE,
I WILL ASK YOU TO CONSIDER:

  • Culture

  • Codependency

  • Patriarchy

  • The Feminine, the Masculine

  • Our Bodies

  • Violence

  • Claiming value and receiving it

  • And why HOW women negotiate matters for our world. . .

  • Strategy – Collaborative or Competitive?

  • Difficult Conversations

  • Negotiation Power

  • Our Human “Herstory”

  • Needs and Interests

  • Communication

  • Money

  • Anger

The goal is to engage your thinking, give you some practical tools that you can immediately apply, and inspire you! The world is on fire – climate change, militarization, divorce rates, pandemics, rising authoritarianism. Every major problem is pointing to the need for greater collaborative leadership: Women are well suited to guide the way.

Before you begin, use the worksheet to think through your own conflict or negotiation scenario.
